Volunteer
Our primary aim is to encourage Nigerian American youth to be more involved in their communities. To do this we will provide opportunities for your children to volunteer in the local community by participating in food and clothing drives, tutoring, or events for packing food for third world countries. NAYVO acts as the link between youth volunteers and the resources they need to serve.
We will not simply give out orders to our volunteers, we encourage the youth to look for problems in their vicinity and try to solve them. Upon deciding on an issue we will inform our members of the volunteer’s project to solve it, hopefully connecting them to a person that can directly help them or a group they can ask for support.
For younger volunteers, we want to connect them to groups of other children to volunteer with Feed my Starving Children, an organization that sends food to impoverished children in third world countries. To do so, we will also need to have one or more adults accompany these volunteers depending on the size of the group.
